>> About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Control-M Administrator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing, configuring, and monitoring batch jobs within a BMC Control-M environment, including tasks like creating job definitions, setting schedules, managing dependencies between jobs, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the smooth execution of automated workflows across different systems.

- Key roles and responsibilities of a Control-M administrator:
Job creation and configuration:
- Design and build new Control-M jobs by defining job steps, parameters, and dependencies.
- Set up job schedules and calendars based on business requirements.
- Allocate resources (like servers, queues) to jobs appropriately.
Monitoring and troubleshooting:
- Actively monitor job executions to identify potential failures or delays.
- Investigate and resolve job-related issues, including error analysis and root cause identification.
- Proactively address alerts and notifications regarding job status.
User management and access control:
- Manage user accounts and permissions within the Control-M system.
- Define roles and access levels for different user groups.
System administration:
- Maintain and update Control-M system configurations.
- Perform backups and disaster recovery procedures.
- Apply software patches and upgrades.
Performance optimization:
- Analyze job execution times and identify bottlenecks.
- Implement optimization strategies to improve job performance.
Documentation and reporting:
- Create and maintain clear documentation for Control-M jobs and processes.
- Generate reports on job execution status and performance metrics.
Collaboration and support:
- Work with business users to understand and translate job requirements.
- Provide technical support and training to end-users on Control-M functionalities.
- Important skills for a Control-M administrator:
- Expertise in BMC Control-M software and its features
- Understanding of batch processing concepts and scheduling methodologies
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of scripting languages (depending on the environment)
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional team
